Solea® Dental Laser

What Is Solea?

Solea is a CO₂ dental laser that can perform many common procedures with little to no discomfort. In selected cases, treatment can be completed without traditional numbing injections.

Instead of using a dental drill and needle, the laser uses light energy to precisely treat teeth and soft tissues.

Ideal Candidates

Solea may be an excellent option for:

  • Children who are anxious about needles

  • Children with small cavities

  • Patients needing certain soft tissue procedures

  • Children who have difficulty tolerating traditional injections

  • Patients looking for a more comfortable dental experience

When Solea May Not Be Appropriate

Solea is not suitable for every procedure. Traditional local anesthesia may still be necessary for:

  • Large cavities

  • Deep dental decay

  • Procedures involving the dental pulp ("nerve")

  • Certain extractions

  • More extensive restorative treatment

Advantages

  • May reduce or eliminate the need for injections

  • Little to no vibration

  • Less noise than a traditional dental drill

  • Faster treatment in many cases

  • Minimal numbness afterward

  • Children can often return to normal activities immediately

Considerations

  • Not every procedure can be completed with Solea alone

  • Individual comfort levels vary

  • Some treatments may still require local anesthesia or sedation
