General Anesthesia (GA)
What Is General Anesthesia?
General anesthesia places your child into a carefully controlled sleep state so that dental treatment can be completed comfortably and safely.
Your child will not be aware of the procedure and will not remember the treatment experience.
Ideal Candidates
General anesthesia may be recommended for:
Very young children requiring extensive dental treatment
Children with severe anxiety or extreme dental fear
Patients with special healthcare needs
Children unable to cooperate safely for treatment
Patients requiring multiple complex procedures
When General Anesthesia May Not Be Recommended
General anesthesia is not necessary for most routine dental procedures and may not be appropriate for certain medical situations.
A comprehensive medical evaluation is performed before scheduling treatment.
